I have used this blog post with permission, from a friend and her recent experience with moving her Mom to an Assisted Living Facility. Undoubtedly, many of you have had, or will have similar experiences. Please feel free to check out her site as well. Most importantly take 3 or 4 minutes to read through Peggy’s post. If you know of others with similar experiences, encourage them to share. Emotional healing comes well when we put it to ink (or keyboard…). Thanks for reading!

Long overdue!

Gasp! I’m embarassed to say it has been 4 months since I wrote my first official blog post (kinda makes me wonder what I’ve actually been doing over the last few months!). Many things seem to have been changing for me, both personally and professionally. The business has increased over 400% compared to this time last year (better a boom than a bust!). Perhaps that is something I shouldn’t share here, for fear of people thinking we can’t handle the increased demand. But, with staff eagerly awaiting the addition of new clients that have come through the door over the last number of months, I can honestly say we are handling the wonderful transition smoothly.

The best thing that I can say has happened, aside from the addition of new clients, is the revised website. Amazingly, this blog is now linked directly from the site, which I am thrilled about! The changes to the site delve into a more thorough step-by-step plan of how to access our services, the detailed services we provide, definitions of what those services are. Please check out the revisions, including a new look at www.healthmattershc.com. Many people reading this blog are probably starting the research process for looking for care for a parent, spouse, or perhaps even a child or neighbour. I have always said, and this is no exception, it is better to research this type of care ahead of time, rather than finding yourself in a crisis situation and needing attention immediately, then ending up dissatisfied and needing to make a transition to another care provider, which in the case of many seniors only causes more confusion.

Sign up for our blog, and we’ll send you regular updates (that hopefully come more frequently than 4 months from now)!

Blessings!

The World of Blogging…

Wow…the world of blogging, I’ve entered it. Today. It’s official. But, what am I doing here? I’m actually wondering to myself if I’m even writing in the right spot! Ha!! Guess the joke will be on me when I post the comment and it isn’t even there. Anyways, a wiz, as I choose to call him, at social media marketing, suggested I got on the blogging band wagon, in an effort to ramp up business for myself. So, that’s where I’m at.

Hold the phone!!! Business, you ask??? Those who don’t know me, or know what I do, other than take on the roles of woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, University graduate, and yes, entrepreneur, might wonder about this. To be an entrepreneur is a crazy, crazy business. No pun intended. You bring on new roles…customer, service provider, boss, marketer, sales associate.

Oh right, back to business! What do we do? Health Matters Home Care Services, hence the name Healthmattershc, is a premier provider of non-medical, in-home support (aka… home care). Staff are sent into client’s homes to provide services that include, but are not limited to Personal Care (bathing, dressing, feeding), Homemaking (laundry, meal preparation, shopping, light cleaning), Companionship (socialization, escorting on walks) and Specialized Care (Palliative Care, Advanced Dementia Care). Typically, our clients are Seniors, but we do provide service to those who may be younger and require assistance.

Find out what we’re up to, what’s changing with the business (and there are…good…changes to come!), and let me know your suggestions. If you’ve got questions to ask…then send ‘em over!

For more information, check us out: www. healthmattershc.com, or send us an email: halton@healthmattershc.com

Please, refer your friends to the site, either this one or my direct business link.

Anyways, thanks for checking me out, and please, come back frequently…if this actually got posted in the right spot, then I plan on being back, if not, well, meh…such as life!
